Dolly was chosen because of the potential she and other large farm animals had for revolutionizing agriculture and medicine. But nearly a decade after her birth--and 18 years since Neal First, a retired University of Wisconsin-Madison researcher, first cloned calves from embryonic cells--cloned animals have yet to make it to the shelf of any American supermarket or pharmacy."
